About a year ago I embarked on this journey and now my nephew Joey and I are both enjoined into this commitment to change and recoup our lives.  I think we were both always there (life sometimes gets in the way) but it it fun to finally be at a place where we can both enjoy mad crazy WODs at Cross Fit KOP as adults together and not as me and this kid!  And both feel like it has impact to everything else in life (strong body of a strong mind, for a strong heart) and frankly just enjoying pushing each other.

I love that we can both be tanked and look over at each other (LAUGH through the pain!) and trigger the change to push on.  One of us says 5-4-3-2-1 and we do that next set of reps or finish the workout.

Just pure JOY which is so much a part of your living and enjoying the adventure that is the mundane everyday.  I feel like we absolutely appreciate that we have the ability to do level of exercise, spend this amount of time with each other, encourage each other and know this is a precious time that we will always share.

And can I just say 50plus and I am working out with this young buck – it is awesome!

The big joke- I love when we yell at each other – ” Do it for book club” of course in the middle of a workout cause when else would you yell that! cause it was either this or that!

And I really do think we inspire each other to be better not just at working out but in life.  I was overwhelmed when I saw Joey’s Facebook post!

Everything you put out to the children in your lives comes back and I am grateful that years and years of climbing and rowing and sharing this with them ends up here…..

and we even enjoy it when we mess up – talk about having a laugh!

 

and can I just say – A year ago I would have never expected to be doing this! I have done some pretty cool things…. scaling mountains, travel to places people only dream of and maybe it’s just about gratitude for it all but I know you are where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there.
