2nd day of walking and balance of the group joined us 10 people from the UK – Scots and Brits. – things got louder and funnier fast!~
Goal for today was 21km. Walk was lots of step trails up that almost looked liked Roman Roads – lots and lots of up at 40-45%- very steep but all very doable – most of it was covered in stone, but lots was just roadway.
Walk was split in two – 11km till lunch then stop along the way- usually stop was next to an Auberge. These are overnight hostels that also have food where pilgrims hang
and of course I never make friends…

The routes are marked = not always clearly with an arrow…

The routes are also marked with cairns where pilgrims will place rocks and set their intentions or perhaps use rocks in remembrance or as a commitment homage. This is our guide Alfonso Gallego

The neat thing about any part of the walk is justly so many pilgrims from all over the world whom you pass and they pass you – you are all tired but so committed you all just share the moment and understand the journey and being with the pilgrims is really the goal – everyone gets there at their own time as it should be.
